Imaging spectroscopy refers to methods for identifying materials in a scene using cameras that digitize light into hundreds of spectral bands. Each pixel in these images consists of vectors representing the amount of light reflected in the different spectral bands from the physical location corresponding to the pixel. Images of this type are called hyperspectral images. Hyperspectral image analysis differs from traditional image analysis in that, in addition to the spatial information inherent in an image, there is abundant spectral information at the pixel or sub-pixel level that can be used to identify materials in the scene. Spectral unmixing techniques attempt to identify the material spectra in a scene down to the sub-pixel level. In this paper, a piece-wise convex hyperspectral unmixing algorithm using both spatial and spectral image information is presented. The proposed method incorporates possibilistic and fuzzy clustering methods. The typicality and membership estimates from those methods can be combined with traditional material proportion estimates to produce more meaningful proportion estimates than obtained with previous spectral unmixing algorithms. An analysis of the utility of using all three estimates produce a better estimate is given using real hyperspectral imagery.
The best piece of advice I have every gotten (actually two related pieces of advice) are a) write the way you speak and b) read your writing out loud when you edit.I wrote about the first one here:
Best piece of advice also came from a book: Rewrites by Neil Simon. While Neil Simon is a great storyteller, it is also a very educational read. Changed the way I think about the entire writing process.
Let your writing marinate. Too many people, especially bloggers, let it rip, producing a hodge podge of disjointed ideas, leaving the reader to piece together the story. Well established journalists do this as well, Thomas Friedman of the NY Times being a case in point. Treat your readers with the respect they deserve.
The camera bar glass has been tweaked, too. First off, it's now plastic. Actually, the whole back of the phone is plastic and has a bit more "give" to it than the glass Pixel 6 backs, though it's hard to notice. The plastic camera bar cover means the entire black strip is one piece now; before, the Pixel 6 camera bar glass was in three pieces: two curved plastic bits on either end and a long, straight glass piece that covered the camera. The Pixel 6a cover can make one continuous end-to-end piece, with all the curves integrated. The one cutout in the plastic bar is for the camera lens cover, which should help reduce the glare you get compared to the Pixel 6's big, glass camera cover. Google is doing away with the glass sheet for the Pixel 7 as well and is opting for a mostly aluminum camera bar.
Monitoring the performance of hybrid rice seeding is very important for the seedling production line to adjust the sowing amount of the seeding device. The objective of this paper was to develop a system for the real-time online monitoring of the performance of hybrid rice seeding based on embedded machine vision and machine learning technology. The embedded detection system captured images of pot trays that passed under the illuminant cabinet installed in the seedling production line. This paper proposed an algorithm for fixed threshold segmentation by analyzing the images with the exploratory analysis method. With the algorithm, the grid image and seed image were extracted from the pot tray image. The paper also proposed a method for obtaining pixel coordinates of gridlines from the grid image. Binary images of seeds were divided into small pieces, according to the pixel coordinates of gridlines. Each piece corresponded to a cell on the pot tray. By scanning the contours in each piece of the image to check whether there were seeds in the cell, the number of empty cells was counted and then used to calculate the missing rate of hybrid rice seeding. The seed number sowed in pot trays was monitored while using the machine learning approach. The experimental results demonstrated that it would consume 4.863 s for the device to process an image, which allowed for the detection of the missing rate and seed number in real-time at the rate of 500 trays per hour (7.2 s per tray). The average accuracy of the detection of missing rates of a seedling production line was 94.67%. The average accuracy of the detection of seed numbers was 95.68%.
Final description: All straight lines should be changed from grey to green. All three pixel areas (corners/angles) should be changed to read. All 4 pixel areas (2 on top and 2 connect underneath it) should be changed to blue
Final description: Grid size should be the same as input. Grey blocks should be changed to colors red/blue/green, with 2 block bars being green, 3 block bars and right angle pieces being red, and Z shaped pieces, squares, 4 block bars, and T shaped pieces being blue
Final description: Copy the input. All you need to do is change the colors of the shapes depending on how much area they cover. If the shape has area size 4 then turn that shape dark blue. If the shape has size 3, turn those shapes red. If the shapes have size 2, turn those shapes green. Only the area size number matters. A long, straight 4 piece block is blue, and so is a 2x2 4-piece block.
Problem: the finger will init the firstResponder only within the first 10 - 30 of height top to bottom. if you got the idea that means that the first 10 top pixels of the textView is not going to ignite the firstResponder, the space of ignition is 20 pixels and below of that. Meaning that at this point the remaining 50 pixels doesn't work as well like the first 10 top.
As part of ongoing research at Marshall Space Flight Center, Cadmium-Zinc-Telluride (CdZnTe) multi-pixel detectors are being developed for use at the focal plane of the High Energy Replicated Optics (HERO) telescope. HERO requires a 64x64 pixel array with a spatial resolution of around 200 microns (with a 6 meter focal length) and high energy resolution (
We compare LOCOCODE to ``independent component analysis'' (ICA, e.g., [5,1,4,19])and ``principal component analysis'' (PCA, e.g., [21]).ICA is realized by Cardoso's JADE algorithm, whichis based on whitening and subsequentjoint diagonalization of 4th-order cumulant matrices. To measure the information conveyed by resulting codes we train a standard backprop net on the training set used for code generation. Its inputs are the code components; its task isto reconstruct the original input. The test set consists of 500 off-training set exemplars (in the case of real world images we usea separate test image). Coding efficiencyis the average number of bits needed to code a testset input pixel. The code components are scaled to the interval and partitioned into discrete intervals.Assuming independence of the code components we estimate the probability of each discrete code value by Monte Carlo sampling on the training set.To obtain the test set codes' bits per pixel (Shannon's optimal value)the average sum of all negative logarithms of code componentprobabilities is divided by the number of input components. All details necessary for reimplementationare given in [15].Noisy bars adapted from [11,12].The input is a pixel gridwith horizontal and vertical bars at random positions. The task is to extract the independent features (the bars). Each of the 10 possible bars appears with probability .In contrast to [11,12] we allow for bar type mixing -- this makes the task harder.Bar intensities vary in ;input units that see a pixel of a bar are activated correspondinglyothers adopt activation .We add Gaussian noise with variance 0.05 and mean 0to each pixel. For ICA and PCA we have to provide informationabout the number (ten) of independent sources (tests of versions with assumed sources will be denoted by ICA- and PCA-).LOCOCODE does not require this -- using 25 hidden units (HUs) we expectLOCOCODE to prune the 15 superfluous HUs.Results.See Table 1. While the reconstruction errors of all methodsare similar, LOCOCODE has the best coding efficiency.15 of the 25 HUs are indeed automatically pruned:LOCOCODE finds an optimal factorial code which exactly mirrors the pattern generation process.PCA codes and ICA-15 codes, however, are unstructured and dense. While ICA-10 codes are almost sparse and do recognize some sources, the sources are not clearly separated like with LOCOCODE -- compare the weight patterns shown in [15].Real world images. Now we use more realistic input data, namely subsections of: 1) the aerial shot of a village, 2) an image of wood cells, and3) an image of striped piece of wood. Each image has pixels, each taking on one of 256 gray levels. ( for village)pixels subsections are randomlychosen as training inputs.Test sets stem from images similar to 1), 2), and 3).Results. For the village imageLOCOCODE discovers on-center-off-surround hidden unitsforming a sparse code. For the other two images LOCOCODE also finds appropriate featuredetectors -- see weight patterns shown in [15].Using its compact, low-complexity features it always codes more efficiently than ICA and PCA. 041b061a72
