A Special Message from Camp President, Daniel J Segool:

Dear Friends of Peniel Camp:

I am writing to let you know of important needs for Peniel. We recently wrapped up our encampment and we were richly blessed. Our attendance was up over 20% compared with 2010. Unfortunately, our giving was DOWN, with our expenses up slightly. This has left us in a difficult situation financially.

As you know, we also are hoping to paint the exterior of our main Tabernacle. Thanks to efforts of several campers, we have already scraped most of the targeted areas. We also have been blessed to have a painting contractor donate labor to help us with the project. The cost of the project will be about $1,300 for supplies and equipment. This is an extremely reasonable cost for a project of this size, but we simply do not have that money right now. Our board has stepped out in faith to approve the project, but we need your financial support.

In addition, we have pending bills (food bill and utilities) from camp that will completely use up the funds we have in our checkbook. What it all boils down to is this: We need to raise $8,000 in the next several weeks just to maintain our checkbook balance. We will also need to raise another $9,000 throughout our off-season to cover anticipated expenses. (Our insurance cost alone totals $5,000.)

We need to hear from you now, and throughout this off-season with your financial support. Take action now! Please call Carol Durfee at 814-774-8426 to let her know how much of a gift you can send in the next three weeks. You can then mail gifts to Carol's attention at the address above.
